Bertie while a great man and politician, bringing peace and prosperity to our land is first and foremost an educated man, an intellectual with a passion for writing many great works of political literature. He has also written for many newspapers and has an excellent vocabulary and ability to express his inner most intellectual thoughts to the public and bring about positive change.

One of the diseases in this country is anti intellectualism, the desire to shun intellectuals or those willing to show any form of intelligence. Bertie Ahern fits the bill for an intellectual, so could this go some way toward explaining the hatred and jeering directed at him?
