It's seen by some as Ireland's answer to A Question of Sport, and it's hosted by... Grainne Seoige??!?!?!?

I confidently predict this will bomb. :D;)

Actually Grainne is extremely knowledgeable about sport. She's something of a sports fanatic - everything from GAA to Premiership (she's a Man U fan since childhood) to even golf for flip sake.

    Didn't know that...

But I thought most people didn't like her anyway? ;)

Pat Spillane acted like a spoilt brat.... Ruby "Galway beat Kildare in 1995" It was 98? The pundits and players were the ones to let the show down not the presenter....

Grainne is getting better and better!! She is a natural when it comes to sport and she proved that on up for the match last night!!

Caught the last 10 minutes of this, pretty poor fare to be honest.
I barely recognised Catrìona McKiernan, she looks like an OAP.

Watched it last night and when it comes to anything that RTE does with a quiz show its inevitable that they will mess it up. From the start, the audience in the background with their GAA jerseys and orchestrated gestures on que. It was like the quiz version of the All Ireland talent show.

Then they wheel on Packie Bonnor and Michael O, to talk a bit and they lost the whole point of the show being a quiz more like lets find jobs for these people we have working for us.

As a quiz it sucks, 20 questions in 1/2 and hour, the set is way too bright and its full of the people on the teams trying to be funny.

Thats my take on it, I won't be watching it again.

It's bad enough to have to listen to Spillane whinging & trying to wisecrack his way through The Sunday Game, but now we have to put up with him on a lame excuse take off of A Question of Sport. It was painful to fkn watch this waste of license payers money. I for one wont be watching this drivel again. I suggest the plug be pulled on it sooner rather than later, and put everyone out of their misery.

Some of the questions were absolutely dire. The "question" on Freddie Flintoff was "Flintoff's real name is Andrew, what was Sonny Liston's real first name"?
Instead of doing a lame excuse for Question of Sport, why not copy it?
2 Captains with a Hurler, Gaelic footballer, Rugby player and one other. It's the longest running sports quiz in history there's a reason for that.

    Bring back Know Your Sport.

My eyes are burning from the glaring white set and my ears are humming from the announcers horrible put on accent.
And why is grainne seoige in everything? Too many old heads in Rte and not an original thought!

The first round is awful; questions about the participants, and they end up being completely unrelated to the contestant.... How hard is it to come up with a question about Jason Mcateer???

Another wasted opportunity by RTE.... The old Know your Sport format was excellent, and would slot in well at 7.20 on a Sunday.

I just watched this again for the second time. Its awful, total sh1te and a waste of money. Where do I start?

Firstly, the teams are well known personalities and faces, we all know them, why not give some ordinary people a go? The country is mad into quizzes anyway, just look at the amount of table quizzes that are used as fundraisers, theres plenty of teams out there.

Second with all the intros and chat we loose too much time. I'm not interested in small talk with the contestants, I watch it to test myself a bit on sports questions. Less chat. more questions please.

The "commentary" is a waste of time, unfunny, cringeworthy and tiresome. Seoige can read out the bloody scores too and save more time.

What RTE should do is get a team from a sports club (any kind of sport) from each county. 32 counties, straight knockout format gives 31 programmes. It would last from September to May with a couple of breaks thrown in. Have a bit of an audience there for atmosphere and ditch the iSet, the white is blinding. Give the ordinary punters a chance, FFS we pay the bloody licence fee and probably an appearance fee for each of the celebrities. I do agree that the time on a Sunday evening is good.

Know your Sport was a good format and a popular show, so too is Question of Sport. Try to learn from this RTE.
