Sarah Palin's A Republican I Thought She Was Meant To Be Racist?!?!

So apparantly it's been revealed Sarah Palin has had a one night stand with former NBA star Glen Rice back in the 80s.

In the book, which will be published on September 20th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud Glen Rice less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd. Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.
A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”
In the book, McGinniss quotes Rice as confirming the one-night stand.

But wait aren't Republicans and people affiliated with the tea party in America all meant to be racist?? Now I'm not a Republican nor do I agree with any of their politics but I do get tired of this accusation that if you're right wing somehow politically you're meant to be racist. I have loads of tory voting friends in England who are in interracial marriages and I'm sure there are plenty of people in America in mixed relationships who vote Republican likewise. Plenty.
I follow a lot of American politics and I read a lot of from the huffingtonpost and msnbc and if you read or watch any of those programs you're constantly under the impression that all opposition to Obama is because he's black. That "RepubliKKKans" are attempting return to the Jim Crow days LITERALLY LOL. Look I don't have much time for the Republican party but I do get tired of this nonsense that all right wing people are racist. Because a lot of people are right wing (unfortunately), but I don't believe everyone who has political leanings to that direction is racist sorry I just don't.

There's been a lot of accusation recently in America recent that Obama's facing a lot of hostility from opposition because of his skin colour and that if he was white he would be getting an easier time. But I don't remember Bill Clinton getting an easier time when 100 million dollar campaign was spent on him by people like Ken Starr to try an impeach him for the crappiest of reasons (when 70% of the public were against impeachment at the time). Could you imagine if the Republicans put forward an impeachment trial against Obama in this day in age? There would be accusations of the GOP not being able to like having a black president, the Republicans are out to get minorities, want to return to South African Apartied etc. Not for the fact that they just hate him for his politics maybe??

Sorry I just find stories like this from Mrs Palin quite amusing. I've just spent the last two years being convinced that the tea party was basically set up as right wing reactionary group opposing a black president and now the queen of the tea party has just revealed that she has a fetish for black men. NIIIIICE. :cool:

The reality is a lot of people are ignorant of the Republican party and American politics in general. It is true the current incarnation of the Republican party is quite to the right, but they have had a good past in many ways, especially pre-1980. Nixon even tried to introduce a form of Universal Health in the 70's.

Obama isn't getting hostility from the opposition because of his skin colour. He's getting opposition from a lot of people because of the poor job he's doing. There are a lot of black, hispanic and mixed race people affiliated with the republicans and some in the tea party movement.

I'd add that American politics is a shade of grey tbh. IMO someone like Mitt Romney is further to the left than many Democrats. And the Democrats are in no way any different to the Republicans on the whole.
