I'm stunned Ambrose

I put this in the TV forum earlier but no replies, so thought I'd stick it in here, see if anyone knows because it is driving me bananas.

This 'saying' has been in my head for the last few days, but I can't remember where it came from, I think it was an Irish TV programme from the early to mid 80s. I was wondering if it was Ballykissangel, but also have Mike Murphy lodged in my brain for some reason. Or was it from a TV ad? I think it was "I'm stunned Ambrose, stunned", but maybe it didn't have the second stunned?

I've searched on here, and googled it, but nothing is showing, can anyone else remember it, and where it is from?

    Thanks.

I remember it frmo one of Mike Murphy's shows (The Live Mike?). "I was stunned, Ambrose, shocked and stunned..." in a thick Dublin accent.

I thought it was a real Dublin accent, so BallyK didn't make sense. Thank you:D

Thanks. Watching that again, I realise how bad it was, but we obviously thought it was good as we'd watch it every week:rolleyes:

well to be fair The Live Mike wasn't that bad for the times that were in it, the candid camera routines were gas

Simpler times:), it was live, so no retakes for missing your lines.

Funny how the things they were talking about in that sketch on youtube would only need to be retweeked slightly and be relevant again today.
