I met a girl about this time last year through mutual friends when we both started college in Dublin. She had recently broken up with a long term boyfriend and we grew to become more and more friendly as the months passed by. Over the first 6 months she had a couple of short relationships that fizzled out quickly. She tells me that she sometimes feels like she should give up on guys.
Even after college broke up for the summer we kept in frequent contact with her initiating about 3 quarters of the conversations. On one occasion she was drunk on a night out and text me declaring her love for me, that she likes me more than a friend. After this she didn't speak of it so I sort of left it. Now maybe I shouldn't have but the thing is, we are both extremely shy so a big topic like this would be difficult for either of us to build up the courage to talk about. On another night out she was quite close to me, sitting next to me for a lot of the night and when laughing would lean her head on my shoulder, it was cute :)
I really care about this girl, I think she is beautiful and I like her a lot! I am torn as to what to do about it! Help me out please! :)

Ask her out. Life is too short and you don't want her to be snapped up

Get moving on asking her out on a date OP! She could hardly be clearer...

I really want to but at the same time I don't want to risk loosing a great friend! She is incredibly shy and the only signs of affection were when she was drunk. So I am unsure if these were her true feelings or not!

    Carpe Diem.

Either you try to move this "friendship" to something more or you spend the rest of your life regretting that you didn't. There is only one way to know if these drunken presentations of affection are the real deal.... you have to reciprocate by showing your feelings.

Maybe it won't work out, maybe it will. The future is uncertain, and that's what makes life so worth living. If you knew your future it might not seem worth your while getting out of bed. It is the thrill of uncertainty which both torments and tantalizes us. Get yourself tantalized!

    Be at peace,

    Z

You will lose this friendship eventually anyway, because if you don't make a move somebody else will, and eventually when "Mr Right" comes along you'll be demoted to being an acquaintance.

    Act now!

    Be at peace,
