True, they seem to be made by Husqvarna, hardly a no-name producer of chainsaws. The last batch they had for sale in Lidl had a Husqvarna stamp and model number on them.

+1 Done two years firewood chopping and never a problem.

While they wouldn't stand up to industrial use, there fine for the occasional chopping of firewood.

We've a florabest petrol hedge trimmer and its a decent piece of kit

Break it down here and take a look... No lidl meat in there:D

That said I did buy one of their electric hedge trimmers few years back and it is packed it in fairly quick. Gone petrol since as I have about of 200ft of leylandi to cut twice a year.

Might take a gander at this though.

These saw are perfect for light cutter up to about 8''. A lump of knotted oak/elm would test these lol .Are these saw made by Husqvarna then ?

to be honest i will have to disagree with you and its no stil or huskey but saying that i have cut a lot of hard wood bigger than 8" no problem and i have never had a problem with knots people are quick to knock the saw because a lot of people either put the wrong two stroke petrol mix into it or dont have a sharp chain

but believe me i have felled and blocked beach ash and oak trees without a problem and even if it blows up the next time i use it with the work it has gone through for me its after paying for itself 5 times over and i would buy another one but thats just my experience with the lidl saws

Smokin ace can you tell me what mix you use. My dad got one a few months ago and can't remember what's the right mix. We think it's 40:1 but can see it in the book?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 855 ✭✭✭smokin ace

yes a mix of 40-1 is what should be used but use a good quality 2 stroke oil because my saw is still going strong and i fully believe good quailty 2 stroke oil fresh petrol a sharp chain and keeping it clean is the life of the saw
