    Not heard of them offering interest free loans. If they were to give one of €7k in Ireland you'd likely get hit with tax on the BIK so perhaps the tax law explains the difference.

    Firm I'm in gives something like 2k at the start to help with rent costs like deposits and building a wardrobe. It's not taxed as a BIK as it's treated as a salary advance. You sign an agreement to have your salary deducted by x for y number of months...

    By the way, why the hell would you want a 7k advance? Anybody I know who took them out severly regrets doing it as they ended up blowing it on nights out within the first month or so. If you're badly stuck take out a 500-1000 but try to avoid anything more than that. Is it really worth being down 200 quid a month for a year when you can easily burn through the advance in a short space of time.
