Don't know about newbridge house but with Malahide castle you have to get permission from the park warden in advance. I don't think you have to pay.

    Thanks Monife :)

Do you know if you can go into the castle and get pictures taken inside?

    Thanks

I'm not sure. Your best bet would be to contact the park warden.

No I missed it, I didn't know it was back on. Was last nights the first of the new series?

No idea Sar11, I'd never watched it before until I was flicking through the channels last night. The H2B wanted photos at Malahide Castle, which is why I asked!

Regarding your OP: The contact details on Malahide Castle's website are:
    Maria O Callaghan - Tel: 00353 (0)1 8462184 - mocallaghan@dublintourism.ie
    Its worth a try!

Just inside the gate of Newbridge House on the left is a really nice spot for photo's, their's a half ruined building that makes a lovely backdrop for pictures.

I was thinking that myself I love new bridge house. I'm trying to think of somewhere incase of rain. I know Malahide castle don't let you inside for photos and doubt newbridge house will!

I did some shots under one of the trees and you still get a really nice view, depending on time of year there should be enough leaves to shelter and its only two or three steps from the roadway, I will fish out a couple of pictures and post them up later

I had my shots in malahide castle before going on to the grand for the reception, noone said anything to me about asking a warden, i never asked, noone stopped us. few years ago now though.

maybe the flash photography is wearing down the shade of the concrete on the castle though and thats why you have to ask the warden. :p

newbridge house as well, that building mentioned above is really nice. and only like 15 minutes from malahide.

You have to get permission for any of the venues you mentioned, and also Ardgillan from Fingal Co Council parks department. Its fairly straightforward. As to photos inside, you would have to make a seperate application - not sure to who - but the building is looked after by a different department to the Parks dept (maybe th heritage dept?). I have never heard of anyone getting photos inside any of these venues though, unless they had the actual ceremony there.

I am fairly sure you would have to pay a charge to have photos inside - this is because by you being in there they cannot let paying members of the public in at the same time, so they charge a fee. We had our actual wedding in Ardgillan and it was €400 for them to close the castle for the day. If you were only going to be in there for an hour or so I imagine it would be a lot less.

Speak to your photographer first though - they usually know how it works.
