I’ve the following problem with the cruise control on my Citroen C5 -

    Cruise control is pausing/deactivating itself!

Sometimes it can happen 2/3 times during a journey (70 minutes motorway driving). When it pauses I just resume it again and it works. As I said it might not happen at all during a journey or it could happen 3/4 times. Anyone ever seen this before or any idea’s what it might be? Thanks

Its very difficult to know really...
Are there any C/Control faults displayed when this happens..?

I know if any faults/glitches arise in the engine ecu it cuts off the C/Control
    for safety reasons.
If you know someone with lexia 3 or equivalent diagnostic equipment then check for engine/abs/bsi faults that may have caused the cutting off of the C/control.

There are no faults coming up on it! I’ve already had it in with a Citroen dealer and they don’t know what the problem is as no faults are showing up! I guess I’ll bring it back to them so that they can try again. Thanks.

It could be a software issue. I've had a similar problem with a C4, cruise would disengage and amber service light would come on. If cruise was switched off and turned back on error would clear and cruise would work again. Problem was fixed with a software update from main dealer.

I'd get it checked to see if any software updates are required.

Other than that I'd be suspecting a faulty brake light switch. A dodgy brake light switch that 'accidentally' switches on will disengage the CC.
