    Hi there,

I just registered this morning in Aungier St so with Kevin St nearby popped down there after, saw in the SU shop there behind the counter the 'Howie' coats are €20 and the regular ones are €16. I presume the Howie one is what you mean, they are double breasted have elasticated sleeves, and button up around the neck....don't look as 'doctor-y' as the other ones, they're used a lot in microbiology labs, so one bought together with proctective goggles you're talking €23. :)

I'm doing DT425, going by the timetable we will have a few subjects in common, like chemistry, micro, maths (which I'm particularly dreading !) basically everything that's in the KOS theatre, the place we were for induction Monday afternoon !!

Yeah, it's not too dear, soo important though, our tutor warned us at induction that labs are compulsory and if you turn up without your coat and/or goggles, you might as well be absent !! I wouldn't say it's any dearer in Cathal Brugha St to be honest, there would be questions asked if they were :p

Looking forward to starting properly on Monday, felt the ice breakers were good, but really want to get to know all the rest of my group :D

Howie lab coats are the only ones permitted in the labs in Cathal Brugha St and also the only ones which are sold in the CBST su shop :)

The prices should be the same.

Yes if you turn up without a lab coat you will be sent to get one from a lab technician but do not rely on this as if you cant get one you won't be allowed stay in the lab and marked as absent!!!

Most of your big classes Biology and Chemistry will be in the KOS so get a good seat!

Word of the wise be nice to 4th years we're a wealth of knowledge and potentially in the back of your labs. I used to always ask them for help :P

4 years... If you're lucky! I'm on my 4th I think! Lose them a lot and for food processing you'll need a specific lab coat for that subject!

Once you walk in the Marlborough St entrance go straight (not into the class the other one) then it's down there! It's signed I think!!! :)

Good seat is in the middle! Front you can't do a thing (phones etc) and back they make sure to ask you questions
