A very well written report that covered pretty much all of my concerns.

I also echo the call for an elective repeat, something that is very much needed IMO. Hopefully the institute will listen and announce that they intend to implement it either side of Christmas.

In fairness if you had the option of sitting the elective again either side of Christmas I would jump at the chance.

As it is those who have failed the elective will be down anywhere from €5k to €10k at big 4 at least.

To be honest I'd be very doubtful that they'll offer the chance to repeat the electives knowing the institute.

Any word back from the Institute about the possibility of Repeats?

Failed Core last year. Passed Tax Elective. It is so annoying having to wait another year, not to mention the lost wages, etc from not being qualified.

I know a load of people who are going to switch accounting body, should they fail, once results are out this Friday.

CPA give slightly bettter exemptions than ACCA to former CAI students, and you can sit their exams twice per year.

I'd have 4 to do with CPA (or 6 with ACCA - so not a chance) if I don't get the Core come Friday. So CPA option not too bad.
