Beach or Pool Lifeguard

    Hi,

    I am interested in completing a lifeguard course but not sure where to look, is the RLSS qualification the main one in Ireland? Gave it a google but the website looks like its from 1995.

    Any advice on how to go about this is appreciated.

    RLSS Pool Life guard is the way to go. There are other qualifications from Irish Water Safety too. I saw courses advertised in Sportslink in Santry a while back. They might be able to guide you to a course.

    Irish Water Safety run courses all over the country. RLSS are not in as many locations. Check out www.iws.ie for water safety courses

    Both organisations offer pool and beach lifeguard course and both are up to International lifesaving standard, so whichever course you can get is good.

    just a note of warning though some pools will only employ people who did one course over the other, even though there is little difference in the standards :D
