    Hi.

Has anyone here had any dealings with Cameron Cars in Glasnevin? I've almost done a deal on a car there and just wondering has anyone any positive/negative feedback about the garage. Thanks

Well in general no negative feedback here on boards is a good sign. If you click on the "Motors" forum, then select "search this thread" on the right hand side - then enter "Cameron" you will see them mentioned by people occasionally in other threads. I had a quick glance - it looks pretty favorable.

Have not heard of any issues with them. They appear to sell a fair bit of specialist stuff too.
Id certainly chance them over many independant garages around dublin

I seal with them on a regular basis and have always found them professional and honest. Never bought a car from them but always find them one of the better ones to deal with.

Thanks for the replies folks. The guy I was dealing with seemed honest and genuine. Just waiting on the Credit Union to give me the go ahead on friday so fingers crossed I'll have it early next week.

On a separate matter, I inquired about getting an extended warranty on the car. Have any of you done this before and would it be worthwhile? €250 for premium cover (engine, gearbox, clutch, electrics, pretty much everything). To me this seems a bit too good to be true. Any thoughts?

I bought a car from them, everything worked out okay, and the guy is into motorsport. But the whole time I was uneasy, He contradicted himself a few times and the story changed a few times.
But I got the car at a good price, they seem to deal in ex english cars, when I had the car out for a test drive I rooted around inside it, and found a receipt with UK owners name and workplace.
I gave him a bell and he confirmed the car was okay when he had it and the mileage seemed about right.

I would go back to them no problem, but don't turn off the radar if you know what I mean.

Thanks for that Christ0pher. I think I'll forget about getting the warranty, seems like it'd be more hassle than it's worth. I'm getting a 3 month warranty from the dealer anyway so that'll have to do.
