Applecare(?) for iPhone

Bought an AppleCare Protection Plan from an O2 store this morning... €69 instead of €75 on the apple website... have just tried registering it online.
Was a very un-apple-like experience... I've had to email proof of purchase and 'they'll get back to me in the next day or two' to let me know if it's acceptable.

Is this normal? Surely not... do they no longer believe Irish people can actually afford such things and must be using dodgy ebay serials?? :)

They only want proof of purchase for the device, not the Applecare (but they may look for that later). They need this so that they know you bought the Applecare within the first year of warranty. This don't look for this if you bought the device from them as they'll have a record.

But the phone is already registered with apple, they know exactly when it was bought, registered and activated... they sent me out an email saying 'warranty expires on 18th September... buy applecare for €69 for an extra years cover' (which iBecomes €75 as they nonsensically want to charge you €6 for shipping the t&c iBooklet)

It just seems a very awkward way of doing something which should be a simple online transaction.

Just a quick question can you get apple care for several devices i.e. iPhone, iPad atv2 all on one policy?

No. You have to buy AppleCare for each one. It's 3 years coverage from that the date of purchase.

I'm afraid for Ipod, iphone, Ipad's is only 2 years from the date of purchase, you only add 1 year.

Looks like for Mac and Apple Display you can add 2 extra years.
