    Hello,
Can anyone recommend a specialist that can help with herniated disc, but won't ban me from horse riding.
I wouldn't want to stop riding, but after each lesson my back is just killing me.

I would be happy for any advise anyone can give me.

    thx!!

I would think the best place to get specific advice is to enquire from a Race Jockeys association for a reccomendation for a specialist.

Might be hard to find one who allows riding during recovery

I had two herniated disks (L4/L5 and L5/S1) and successul surgery to fix them. I was allowed to get back on horses 12-16 weeks after surgery. I am back riding 18months now and having no trouble except for very long periods in saddle, especially if there is a lot of road work.
For two years prior to surgery I continued to ride (hacking & hunting) even though it was painful when I got off but it got worse and worse.
Immediately before my surgery I could not sleep, walk or even lie down without pain so riding horses was definitely not on the agenda.
Take it from someone who has been there- don't do any more damage by riding. Go see a specialist, get an MRI and whatever treatment they recommend. I would not wish the pain I had on my worst enemy.
