I know this channel is fta in england but is there a reason i cant get it here. When i do a search for 'ALL' channels, its there but its locked. Is it only free in the UK? Its channel 5's sister station or something.

5* and 5 USA are not free to air on satellite. They are currently Free to View, which means you need an active UK sky card, either subscription card or freesatfromsky card.

Ch5 have said thay plan to put 5* and 5USA free to air in near future. Expect it to happen in next couple of months, now that more spot beam space is available.

Yes, like already said, 5 USA and 5* won't be FTA on satellite until later this year when 1N comes into service at 28.2E. (This will also bring about some more HD channel launches as well including More 4 HD and possibly Film 4 HD too).

Channel 5 is currently FTA on 10.773 H, although this may change to a different frequency once the 1N space is available.

5 USA and 5* are available on Freeview if you live close enough to get a signal from NI or Wales.
