Shock shock, the new dumbed down Maths syllabus has resulted in higher grades than last year.

    Now why is that I wonder . . . . .

    hmmmmmmmmmmm

Maybe more students did better in the exam?
If you want dumbed down, compare any of today's exams to anything pre 1990.

Good luck to any kids getting project maths results today. Well done and be proud of yourself and your results.

I agree with you on the pre '90 thing. This is just more of it

Yes, but this is the big day for the kids. The other debate can happen anytime.

I agree that they will be excited, but if the Junior cert forum isn't the place for this then . ..

I could move it to Teaching and Lecturing if you like.

I see RTE news spinning that the project maths results are better than standard maths. The Irish Independent reports that "the number of A's in Project Maths is less than the standard exam but the numbers of honours grades are higher in Project Maths".

As usual, you can pick any stat to spin the right story.

Managed to get a b in higher level maths delighted! Always found maths difficult but kept plowing away attempting every question and it payed off! I came up two grades from pres so that makes it all the more satisfactory!
