What have you on the base/floor of the pen and what do you wash it out with, if you use any kind of bleaching agent stop, and dont put fido in when its wet after being washed.
I often just give the dog an injection of penicillin as some breeds a prone to splitting pads, but springers are not one of them so maybe its the cleaning agent.

First thing I thought off aswell, you could be burning the pads off your dogs paws by using too much Jeyes fluid. A friend of mine had a greyhound that the trainer cleaned the run with pure Jeyes fluid and left the dogs standing in it, burnt the pads off the dogs feet.

ithought the same myself, if the floor of the run is concrete the dogs pads shouldbe tough enough to stand up to most rough surfaces. When i wash my run i wash it down with water after the jayes glued and leave the dogs in cages for an hour till its dry

most off you beat to it ,let the pen dry out before you put the dog,(s) back in ,for what its worth try that stuff you,d use for cracked heels i think its made by scholl a lad i know swears by it he tried it with his springers and it sorted it
