Sorry I probably should have clarified that the tyres and tubes are not included in the sale. The tyres Continental Attack / Force and lightweight latex tubes were only purchased c.1 month ago for c.€100 in total) and only been used once, hence I was going to re-use them – if your interested we can talk re this separately.

Thanks for your offer, which is a little on the low side, especially given the light usage these wheels have had. They are the Premium version which includes the lighter titanium Skewers. The “normal" SLs with the standard skewers are currently for sale on Chainreaction for €887 so my pricing is I believe fair – that said if you can stretch to €525 which is midway between my asking price and your original offer, (plus I’ll throw in a pair of Michelin lightweight tubes, with suitable / long valves, worth €10 each), then we have a deal

Thanks for that, but i need the cash to pay for my new wheels / credit card bill (before the wife sees it ) – I already turned down €500 from a club mate before posting here - he would kill me if i sold them to you for that.

@ chrisnonnie, yes these can easily be conbverted to campag (most if not all modern mavic wheels can be easily convert as far I know)

You will need a new freehub body - cost c.€40-50 in a LBS or you should be able to pick one up on eBay for about €30 (plus about €5 postage)

Only tools you will need is a set of allen keys, specifically a 5m and an 8m (need to check that) - just make make sure you take your time and don't lose the pawls inside - A LBS will do it in 5 mins or about 10 mins for a home mechanic - happy to show you if we do business

Thanks for your offer - to be fair to Veesport, I think I owe it to him to revert. Will keep your offer in mind though and will keep the forum up to date if / when he responds, and depending on his response.

The reason for banning is not for discussion, except to say it was absolutely nothing to do with anything posted here or in respect of the cycling forum in general. It is a site-wide ban which can only be imposed by the site Administrators

Firstly apologies the delay in posting a response to your queries, but I was away for the weekend.

These wheels are now sold, for the sum agreed in thread with Veesport.

I hope I didn’t disappoint you, and I see that he was banned over the weekend, but we had agreed our deal before I saw Beasty’s post advising me of the ban. In the circumstances to be honest I was somewhat unsure as to how I should proceed, and I am not sure that the rules cover such a situation (Mods please feel free to correct me if I mistaken) but as I had already agreed a price (in thread) and arranged a viewing / meeting, I felt that I had an obligation to go ahead.

I am anxious not to be seen as operating outside the forum rules, all my communications re this sale with all interested parties are visible in the tread, with my only “out of thread” contact being made AFTER the sale had been agreed.

Mods please close this tread at your convenience.

The only reason I thought it appropriate to mention the veesport situation was that you would not be able to exchange PMs once he was site-banned, so I wanted you to be aware that you could deal with the others if you wished.

Looks like you'd already made contact and as you had indicated the wheels were provisoionally sold to him already there was no problem in finalising the deal with him (as I mentioned already his ban was nothing to do with this thread)
