Its for a taxi driver friend who has been caught out by dud notes recently

Wouldn't it be easier to buy one of those pens they use in supermarkets and the like??

    Computer UV lights work...

Basically they run off 12v and then they have power packs that boost them to 640v.

I had one in a modified focus i had years ago and it lit up people standing outside the car ha ha and it was only 6inches long.

Basically, you just get a switch and fuse and some wire and wire it up.. cost about 20 quid all in..

he wants it to be obvious when the note is being handed over whether the note is fake as regular customers would be offended if you individually checked every note.

nothing will be said unless the note shows up as a fake

sooo.. can they be used straight with 12v (with a fuse) or will he need to get a power pack as well ?

I quoted the wrong one use this, it comes with the inverter

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/cold-cathode-2-tube-kit-34147

These are straight 12v DC in.

So put the fuse on the power with the switch on the power and run it to the inverter, then you run the negative to an earth like the seat belt bolt and you can stick them above the drivers head. They dont affect the lighting inside the car but they show anything white up like crazy. I remember little flecks of dust even showed on them.

I remember i only realised your driving licence has loads of UV reactive bits on it when I opened the glove box one night, shone straight out.
