I don't know how many clubs there are but I do know the best club in Ireland.....a club sandwich

807 in Leinster
651 in Munster
230 in Connacht
584 in Ulster
84 in Britain
259 in other countries

The county with the most GAA clubs is Cork (262), followed by Dublin with 223.

There's a breakdown by county and country on page 65 of the Annual Report.

Bear in mind these numbers may include parishes where there are seperate clubs for football and hurling and even juvenile as well as amalgamations (where a number of clubs field one team for certain competitions or codes so there is a new name given to the "club"), schools, universities and inter-firms teams. What I'm saying is there arent 2,615 "clubs" in the traditional sense of the word.

I'm trying to reconcile the report saying there's 223 clubs affiliated in Dublin. I just can't work it out even taking into account juvenile amalgamations, college teams, work teams.

There's 91 clubs in the "traditional" sense in 2010/2011. Just can't see where 223 is coming from.

Edit: Schools might bring that number up a good bit.
