I thought this was a good deal, looking to get away, and found this..

Although i'd prefer earlier then December 5th.
Our system currently indicates that the Panorama Hotel on 05 December 2011 for 7 nights on All-Inclusive departing from Dublin is currently the cheapest option from £223pp.

Panorama 3* Hotel in Malta. It says from €223, but when you go to book it, it finds cheapest flights bring the price up to €261.04.

    LINK

It says the temperature averages around 16 in December. Also, i don't think the outdoor pool is open then. (I read it somewhere on the site, but can't find it now)

Is this a good deal, or do holidays get cheaper in the next few weeks?
I'd love to go away somewhere warm/hot, but i'm on a very tight budget..

flights are with ryanair - a quick check there and return flights are only €73. that hotel is really far out, though malta is pretty small.

Hotels in Malta are very cheap in the winter, you can easily find decent accommodation for €20 a night and you won't have to stay in Mellieha. I think Ryanair are the only ones who fly there direct from Dublin, so these package deals usually mean a 4-hour flight with them.

You'd be better looking at Tunisia/Morocco/Canaries than shivering away in Malta in December.

The quoted text indicates price is £223. You're saying when you do a search it's coming out at 261. At current exchange rates, that seems reasonable.

I can't comment on how good Malta would be in December, weather wise, but as you're looking to go somewhere warm/hot and on a tight budget I found this:

    Lanzarote:5-12 Dec
flights on Ryanair: €166 per person return (no taxes on these flights currently)
Tisalaya Apartments, Puerto Del Carmen: €161 for the room (self-catering) - via Booking.com

So that's a holiday for two for €393 to somewhere you're pretty much sure of warmth.

I can't vouch for the quality of the apartments, but they're rated 7.8/10 on Booking.com and 4/5 on TripAdvisor, so they can't be too bad.

Yeah, Easyjet are doing 1 week for 100 sterling (flights and accom) during that time. May mean having to go via UK but all the same.

I was in Malta in January and loved it. We got really cheap flights and great accommodation.

Sure its not hot, but the weather was very nice for traveling around the small Island.

Really depends on what you want from a holiday.
