well folks, just a quick shoutout to the community.
is there anyone around dublin city who would like to teach me how to true a wheel, i tried learning online but i think i need a hands on demonstration in person.

i can pay in money for a lesson or maybe in a few pints or cook some grub. looking forward to hear from ye.:D

To be honest I don't believe anyone can teach you how to true a wheel, it would be money, booze, food wasted!
It just takes trial and maybe some error, skills come from practice not from being told how you should do something, I build/true wheels completely different to anyone else I know but it works for me and it's also evolved over the years as I've tried to improve,of course there's a few hard and fast rules but after that it's a personal thing, just keep at it you should learn it eventually or if not just give up trying:D

Yup, spoke wrench/key, wheel and bike, if I'm not building a wheel I always true it in the bike and dish it to the center of the frame or fork, some people say this shouldn't be done but after years of doing different methods it's what I've settled on, frames and forks are so badly made these days they are never centered! My mind boggles as to why not, but they rarely are!
    Go forth and true;)
