What happens if you pay your fees late?

    Hey,

I am paying full fees this year, and I need to have 60% of these (4,004.40 euro) paid by Friday.

However, I could only register today, couldn't access it earlier because of the technical problems/work, and the online bank payment limit is 1,500 euro a day, and a bank giro request takes 10 days..

I'm just wondering will they allow me to pay the fee's late? I'm quite scared right now :(

    Thanks for any help!

Even with medical certification when I was late with my fees I had to pay late fee fees. It was roughly 150 euro iirc. So it is highly unlikely that you will avoid a payment of at least that amount if you pay late.

However, if you talk to student support you might be able to work something out financially but once the deadline passes it's 100% you have to pay.

Talk to someone in student support is my best advice, they've been great with me and provide a good go-to point on any issue as they'll point you in exactly the right direction at the very least.

Can you pay by credit card at all? You can put the whole amount on that at once but I'm aware that mightn't be an option.

Otherwise, contact the fees office asap to let them know your situation. If you get some of it at least paid before the deadline with the rest to follow soon after you may avoid the late fees fee.

Can I ask what course you're doing? Just my fees due were 3747ish, just want to check that I haven't missed something :P

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Yeah I'm going to ring the fees office tomorrow, and see if maybe I could pay at least some of the fees online. I tried it earlier but it said it rejected because the limit is 1,500 a day.

They wont go "no, you cant come to dcu anymore cause of that" anyway?! That's my biggest fear :o

Definitely not! Just might have to pay a bit extra in the end.

Ah cool. Fees for law are more than for my course but just wanted to check! Thanks :)

Just curious about this. I had to pay the €2038 registration fee and I was able to put it all on my Laser card in one go no problem. So, what's the €1500 limit all about?

Yeah, I checked my bank account and it's been taken no problem... Hmm... Odd.

That's what I was saying about the credit card...if you pay by credit card/laser card you can put any amount on at once depending of course on your credit card's limit or for the laser card, the amount of money in your account.

Quick question about fees ( dont mean to hijack the thread), im paying full fees too and am a little confused about the amount I have to pay.

    From this page
    http://www.dcu.ie/finance/fees/undergraduate_fees_2011-2012.shtml
do I have to pay the registration fee AND the course fee?

On my portal page its saying just €4004.40 is due (which would be 60% of the course fee of €6674)

Anyone have a better idea? people in registry and finance office are clueless so I hate going to them to get an answer.

    Thanks!

Hey! I had the same query. The course fee listed ie the 6674 is your fee PLUS your reg fee. So no, you don't need to pay another 2 grand on top of that. 4004 is 60% of all of it and you just pay the 40% next time and that's it :)

Sorry for jumping on this thread .
But i am doing the part time post grad in IT,,it is over two years two nights a week and was wondering about the fee.
If i did it full time over one year i would pay €2750.
So does this mean i pay double that as i have been asked to pay €2750 already ????
