Good songs to get a crowd going in a Pub

    so i work in a pub and we have an iPod for the music. just for the time being . we are hoping to get a DJ in soon enough for Thursday and Friday nights.

    but for now the owners want us to compile a short list of songs for the Thursday and Fridays nights, so they can put them on the iPod.

    I'm just looking for some idea's from people on what kind of music people like to hear in a lively pub . the crowd we get are people finishing work at 5/6 o clock so by 9 or 10 they start to get into the mood for the music after a good chat.

    so can anyone recommend some songs for me .
