Analogue is VHF ~ Saorview is UHF. ASO Analogue switch off next year.

Seems like you have is an mpeg2 tv which is no use for receiving the Irish DTT channels you will need an Mpeg4 tv or a Mpeg4 DTT decoder/receiver.

Your saorview channels are grand so are the analogue channels that you have no sound on....on another tv, if so above could be the problem.

BBC and Itv are not on Saorview? They are on Freesat or fta etc? You say you have no sound do you have a scart connected from the receiver to the tv, if so push it in a little at both ends, and also on the remote for the receiver there is usually a seperate volume button so make sure it isnt turned down fully.

The OP is on about analogue reception of BBC ITV. UK Freeview too weak to work

Does analogue reception of RTE also have no sound??

If thats the case its because the TV is somehow set to wrong analogue standard - should be PAL-I for UK and Ireland, (not PAL-B/G for most of Europe)

It may be selectable in the menu or do an Ireland reinstall. Check the manual.
