    Hey

I have a pair of jeans here. Ive just moved away from home to college and haven't got a clue how to wash 'em.they badly need washing because I...um....fell over haha.

Anyway, I have washing powder, how much do I use?

What temp should I wash them at?

And what else do I need to know?

    Thanks.

Funny how jeans magically washed themselves when you lived at home. Welcome to the real world :D

Firstly, check the tag on the inside of the jeans which will give instructions for what temp you should wash them at. If in doubt, set the temp to 40celsius as this is a safe maximum temp to prevent too much shrinkage if a first time wash or colour run. Secondly, turn them inside out to prevent colours running, particularly if you are including other clothes in the wash. Do not include whites or light coloured clothing in the same load.

Then check the dial or user guide of the machine and select a colourfast type setting. I suggest you only half a scoop of powder (eg half a tea cup) . Tip, going forward liquid detergent is a better purchase as powder sometimes doesn't liquidise properly and clogs or sticks together and can remain on clothing after the wash.

    Happy laundering!

    Haha Thanks a lot :)

One more question. How long should I leave them in the wash for?

EDIT: there is no colour fast setting :/
