Controller issue on Black Ops

Been having on ongoing problem with my controller which randomly selects equipment or uses kill streaks. It's been happening for the last two or three weeks and at first was only once or twice in an hours play but has been becoming more frequent. Last night got so bad the game became unplayable, it will switch from weapons to equipment while running or when shooting in ADS, hip fire seems ok, also in ADS tactical grenades are thrown at random and I was getting at most 23-30 seconds of play without something happening.

I've already reset the controller and the in game options but it hasn't helped. I was about to take the controller apart to clean it (DS3 4 months old, never been dropped or had anything spilled on it) but decided to try it on MW2 first. I deliberately left a killstreak to be used at all times and sure enough it worked perfectly for the half hour I was playing. Also tried it on another game with no problems.

Anyone else experienced this or have any useful suggestions? I'm going to give it a clean anyway but it seems odd that it happens with one game only

try using it with the likes of oblivion or fallout they use the dpad as hotkeys so they might give you a hint if the problem is game or controller related

Cheers for the reply, think I've got it sorted now.

Camera was dead so I didn't take pics. When opened from the back there is the battery then the PCB, under that is a plastic frame that houses the DS motors and has a flexible circuit on it that takes the button inputs. It's located by a couple of pins on the frame and it looks like the hole for one of these was slightly out of place. Instead of lying flat the circuit was lifting slightly towards the up and right buttons of the Dpad. Made the hole a little bigger and added a spot of glue at the edge so it stays flat, working properly again :D
