Now I realise my skils are pretty low on the scale of SC2 in general. But I always play the game to enjoy myself, a win is a bonus. Unlike UnholyGregor I cannot devote 6 hours a day to a game. (He previously stated this!)

Every now and then something happens that ruins your enjoyment of SC2. Multiple 4 gates/6 pools/7 RR etc...

But I just played a game where I lost in 4 mins 4 secs.
Xel'naga caverns, TvP, his first move is to A move all his probes to my base. There goes all of my SCVs....

Now this had happened before and I get annoyed. But I had a look at this guys profile. Masters League in 4v4, 3v3, 2,v2 and Bronze in 1v1. Looking at his match history he has 14 games in the last hour alone, judging by the times he has done this tactic 14 times and won 11 of them. That doesn't count the other 20-25 matches he has in the last 3 hours......

This kind of player more than annoys me. I know that some ppl will say 'a win is a win' but it really grates on me that this guy/gal is exploiting a mechanics loophole to win games against ppl who actually want to PLAY the game.

    Rant over.

I'm by no means a Starcraft guru, but couldn't you just attack his probes with your SCVs?

Yep unless they do some fancy micro a move wins all the time as you have a probe lead and have more income

Wow, only 6hours a day?! thats why hes so bad.

Also you cant report someone for doing an all in, that would be ridiculous. The game revolves around different strats and you needing to know what your opponent is doing, timings etc. Which you will only learn when you play the game waaayyy more. Evemtually you will get to the point when no one will all in, as they will will automatically think you know how to hold it off 95% of the time.

As for being masters in team games that means nothing AT ALL

It was a rant, I know you can't actually report anyone.

My point is that this person is not really 'playing' the game. They are executing a trick. I realise that the game had many strats but for ****s sake, 20+ times in a day?
I acknowledge that I will get cheesed every 3-4 games, part of the scene. thats not a problem for my in the big scheme. Its just got to me, I was having a nice day, played 7 games, 4-3 up and decided to have 1 more, and the huge mood was ruined. It may sound strange but I don't mind being killed by 'legitimate' cheese!

And obviously my micro skills are crap, my SCV's kept running from the probes rather than poking them with their laser drills/sonic screwdrivers (or whatever they have)

Basic micro wins you this easy peasy. Just a-move past his army, laugh and take his points.

If this ever happens to you again, box all you scvs/drones/probes furiously right click a mineral patch until his workers approach yours.
When they are right beside your workers just click a-move behind his scvs, and you should get a decent surround, and since you should have the superior worker count. AUTO-WIN.

This works for the first three lings of an early pool as well.

Thanks for the replies guys, and yes next time I should react a lot better, try for the surround on his probes.....

...however my rant isn't focused on a a stupid loss, (I have lots of those) its about the fact that this player seems to only use this tactic.

Like you said this game is about enjoyment, maybe this guy actually enjoys doing this. Its the same for people who only ever DT rush/Void Ray Rush/Bunker Rush, or even canon rush.

Personally I open with a 7 roach rush around 75% of games. As it has a good chance to end a game before 06:00, or if it fails I have a decent defense against 3 Rax bunker rush/4 gate/early pool. Then I get to transition and practice my macro.

Show us a replay, it sounds like you didnt even attack his probes?

Not even worth it. His first action was A move to my mineral line. He didn't even build anything. I did attack his probes but didn't A move in response, I also made the mistake of trying to leave 2 mining, so my SCV's were not co-ordinated.
Also I lost my temper and typed a rude message........

I have recovered from my temper induced rant, so we can let it go......

Sinister: was that you in disguise?
