Creda TD400 belt replacement

I have a very old Creda TD400 tumble dryer which needs a belt replaced (broken belt) so I bought one of these:

    http://www.appliancespares4u.com/creda-tumble-dryer-belt-td400-p-249.html

The same belt part sells on other sites and according to those sites also matches the model of dryer I have.

Problem solved, or so I thought. But the handyman I got to fit it tried it & says the belt is too long for the drum and the belt needs to be approx 1.5 inches shorter (i.e. approx 1898mm in length give or take a few millimeters). He mentioned that the right length of belt is also used on some Zanussi dryers.

The closest I can source is 1894mm in length:
    http://www.electricspare.co.uk/hotpoint-belt-1894h7-1700442

which if the handyman is correct should work in theory, BUT its not listed anywhere as a compatible part for the Creda TD400 or TD400A or any Zanussi dryers. It's a small amount to pay but I'd prefer to avoid wasting time & ensure I get the right belt this time round.

Does anyone here know from experience of fitting a belt to a Creda TD400 if the above belt is the one I should get?
