Stairs - too much material?

We have a concrete stair case. We are going to clad it in something, what that something is....well that is the question.

We have lovely marble in our hallway, so was thinking of using the left over boxes to clad the risers. Was going to put oak on the threads so that it can match the landing upstairs.

Now, the stairs is slightly narrow so thinking of putting a wrought iron bannister up and along the landing.
So, do people think that marble + oak + wrought iron stair case has too much going on, and would it look odd

Marble I hope it does not get wet or you will break your neck
break neck on the stairs or in the hall? Because on the stairs its going on the riser, not the thread so it wont matter. But, me preventing myself from breaking my neck is another days work
