I'd like to get some deer blood for training the pup would anyone be able to get me some, someone in or around the carlow area would be ideal, I'll be heading up to Blessington this Saturday to meet a fella so anyone up that way would be ideal also.

Any advice on this type of training would be helpful also, I was thinking of laying a trail of blood and having a rapped up deer hide at the end of the trail as the dogs reward what do yee think...

Just on training a dog for deer shooting. I rember JWshooter telling me that he used to go shooting rabbit with his GWP during the summer with a .22. He would have the dog walk to heal and shoot the rabbits, but he wouldn't allow the dog to retriev every rabbit, just the very odd one, he said it was great training for a deer dog.
