If your running a 32bit system your up to the max that the OS can use.

If your on a 64 bit system you can use 8GB. Check this firts before going any further.

Also be careful as some motherboards have physical memory limitations, some of older ones and especially netbook ones (where there is only one so-dimm port in most cases) have a limit of 4gig, Also some CPUs only support 32bit operating systems, so it would be pointless putting in more memory due to hardware limitations!

    Agree with Yoyo.

Go to crucial.com and use their system scanner.

Im running windows 7 64bit and my motherboard can handle up to 16gb of ram.

So I'm guessing I'd have no problems running my 4gb crucial ram and the 4gb g.skill ram together??

You should be ok, the RAM will default to the lower data rate of the lowest sticks,
