    Hey
Does anyone know what documents one needs to bring with them when registering for the postgrad research register for the first time? would it just be receipt of fees paid and mayb a print out of the offer from PAC?

    thanks

I registered today and you just need your student ID / PAC number.

They ask you to verify your DOB and address. I was told I needed my passport but I wasn't asked for it.

    That's was for taught registration.

They print off your info and if fees are cleared it shows on that page.

    Hi,

I'm registering during the week and I'm due to get a city council grant. Unfortunately they are EXTREMELY unhelpful in WCC and I haven't gotten confirmation. Only an acknowledgement they received it. I don't have 6000 to pay this week and claim it back. My application was with the council in July. Will there be major problems at Registration? :(

In the same boat. Different county council screwed up my application. Late registration might be an option (thus incurring additional fees), as might paying a single semester's fees (I reluctantly did this, having been stung by it when starting my undergrad as well). In the latter case, when you are awarded the grant, you can apply to be refunded the fees paid but this takes aaaaages - around March when the councils/VECs are invoiced. It's ridiculous really *sigh* No harm in sending a query to the treasurer's office to see if there are any other options :)

Worst. Photo. EVER. And this will be from issuing institution no. 4. Why did we have to send in passport photos if they were going to take shoddy digipics with which we'll be stuck for the next 3 years?

    Worst. Photo. EVER.

PS Guess who didn't realise you had to log in on a college computer to be able to activate your student email etc? Ahem...

Firstly, your username coupled with your complaint is hilarious. Secondly, if you whinge at them / beg politely next year, and give some sort of a reason, they might let you get a new photo taken. I got them to take a new one when I grew my hair out, and the year after I'd had it cut, as in both cases the photo bore no resemblance to me by then. :)

cheers :) the aim is promote a sense of humour at all times! vis a vis my user name, the haircut is unlikely to change (!) but i have GOT to get a different photo on my student card for future years. Seriously, have you heard the expression 'like a pig with lipstick"? Without the lipstick.

    Worst. Photo. EVER.

Agreed. Shoddy quality pic! Was caught off-guard :o Better than previous card from [other institution] that issued new design cards and vertically stretched the photos of all returning students, making us all look like horses.
