    raid levels

    linux commands

scenario where customer was giving out etc - result they were looking for was me to push responsibility back on customer etc

Sorry but I did this once before and it is anything but "simple."
They would expect you to have a very good understanding of anything that relates to the way in which a Citrix infrastructure works - the above are totally irrelevant as Citrix is largely a Windows tool.

Look at the connection process for citrix, the fundamentals of the product, anything on CAGs, web interface, load balancing and vpn will probably be a bonus.
They also expect a little SQL skills (citrix aac and the farm sits on SQL) and real world management of farms will stand to you, especially if you have experience of application streaming and application isolation environments.

Actually I'd disagree, after my failure to get into Citrix I got a much higher paid contract with a semistate and spent sometimes 75% of my time troubleshooting everything from client connections to complex problems installing and updating applications on the farm including isolation environments.

Its a fairly big application set that has a lot of fingers into different areas and spreads into a lot of different areas. Knowing a good bit about authentication and group policy would help, I can imagine that a lot of the calls would be fairly demanding technical ones regarding problems in applications and roll outs.

Some of the big companies have whole teams doing nothing but Citrix, especially if there is a culture of working away from the office or supporting customers via citrix. Its a very, very useful application to understand.

you talk of citrix as one product - citrix has countless products and they are far from being a windows tool . xenserver is a linux based hypervisor application in the same mold as esx server.

i would jump at the job, great company - great certs and training.

I was offered to do the technical exam. Just wondering what it entails? What are the main areas to look out for?

It was offered to me at very short notice, wouldn't have been able to do the exam I feel as I haven't done CCNA yet. I feel I need to study that and do some work experience before doing a technical exam like that would need time to go over my college stuff to have some chance of passing it so didn't go through with it.

for goodness sake - this is whats wrong with the country. the test is to establish competency and citrix will train you on their products after.

what does having the ccna have to do with passign the exam

you wouldnt have been invited to do the exam if they thought you were totally not sutiable - you have just passed up a great opportunity due to your lack of bottle man

    I work with Citrix.

So many people have asked what questions are on the technical test and this is all I say:

The test has 2 parts: Logic and Technical Knowledge

There are many people applying here so test is designed to ensure only people with suitable problem solving skills/characteristics and a suitable knowledge base get to the face to face interviews This helps to make sure time isn't wasted on both sides.

So, you have logic questions involving solving problems and working out some math/logic problems. Then you have questions from a broad spectrum of IT... hardware, software, networking, windows and so on.

If you get the questions from someone else you are only wasting your time because the face to face technical interview is tough and if you have to cheat or prepare for the technical test you probably won't make it because you simply aren't the type that's being looked for.

On the other hand if you do get through, this is a brilliant company to work for. I absolutely love it here... and you don't get pigeon-holed!! They will expose you to and train you in whatever you show potential in.

Thanks dude good to know. I may go for the technical test, my Citrix experience is mostly with Presentation Server, XenApp with extensive experience with Windows/TS and reasonably solid experience in networking.

I came to the forum to see if anyone has experience working for citrix, so you answered my question.
