Aug hop up fix

Got a G&P hop unit for my steyr, but I noticed when I fire with the port open I could see the adjustment ring turning slowly with the vibration from the GB.
So I took it apart and with the arm out I used a small amount of super glue on each side I pressed it onto regular tin foil, when dry simply trim off the excess, that gave the arm a snug fit, on the adjustment ring I found it took two layers to stop it moving.
Now it's a bitch to turn with your finger BUT you can seriously fine tune the hop and it will not budge, this tip was applied to the standard hop unit too as it was completely loose!
    Hope this helps

Interesting method - if you could, you should post pictures of your process, and of your hop up mech...although I am sure you're probably fed up assembling/disassembling it :D

    Sorry for the delay!!!
I have btw found that you can get away with just skimming the first ring on the hop up unit!
First up, remove the two rings

Next CAREFULLY place a couple of drops of super glue on the smaller of the two rings,

Then press the glued side of the ring onto the tin foil, it will take a while for it to dry as the foil is non- porous!

Then and only when you are 100% that the glue is set, trim off the excess foil!

Lastly trim out the centre, make sure you clear out the tabs inside the ring

Before reassembly make sure the glue is dried, otherwise it will never come off the hop unit.you could dust it with ground up French chalk, which you can find in an old bicycle puncture repair kit!
You might have to repeat this fix if your hop still spins to freely or you apply this fix to the hop arm, I got away with it just by doing this but then other hop units might be really loose. Let me know how you get on, and sorry again for the delay!!
You could also try using sticky back foil you can get it in most good builders providers, it comes in different thicknesses, go for a fairly thin one and build up the layers!
    Good luck

Its working a treat, huge difference, it can hold a zero now:D However, I tried a second layer and the glue couldnt hold the tin foil to tin foil  Mabye its just my glue.

Try adding foil to the hop arm instead, glad it's working King!!
