Golf Vs Focus

Hi all, I was out looking at cars with my Dad. Took a look at a nice
Ford Focus Zetec 3 Door. Its for sale by a car dealer. The guy says its a
good spec & its got low mileage 97.000 Miles. Also, its a 1.4. €1995

Th Golf was pretty much the same, 3 Door, 1.4, for sale by a dealer.
But, this had 120.000 miles. The salesperson says the engine was just serviced and had a timing belt fitted @ 100.000 miles. €2150, but he says he'd let it got for €1900.

Which car would have better reliability ? I don't want to spend €€€ on fixing my 1st car. I like the Golf, simply because its a 3 door..

I'm supposed to be going to Waterford to take a look at a 01 Citroen Xsara van tomorrow.

Bring a mechanic to check over the car if you decide upon one. I wouldn't trust any sales man ever. The focus is fairly bullet proof with only wheel bearings and coil packs the main problems. That said you don't know the cars history of where it's been and how it was treated. I'd want to be sure the car has no underlining problems and the cars have been serviced with new timing belts etc.

Thought you just bought an A5?

Or maybe this is to replace the S-Class you totalled on the N32?
