Just looking for recommendations on companies that do helicopter flying experiences? I'm looking to get my husband a gift voucher for his birthday. I've done a google search and there seems to be a few companies offering the same ting so not sure how to choose between them - any advice or recommendations welcome! We're based in Dublin so ideally looking for somewhere not far from there - Weston Airport keeps coming up.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a voucher from Flightwise. I had a living social voucher for them and made endless phonecalls and emails - all were ignored. Most unprofessional outfit I have ever come across.

That's what I was hoping someone might be able to help me with - don't really have a clue about it all myself

If you want an introductory heli flying lesson, there are two flight schools in Weston - heliflite and eirecopter. A 30 min voucher costs 250 euro (nothing about helis is cheap!) and gets you a 30 min briefing on the helicopter controls and 30 mins in the air during which your husband will be on the aircraft controls.
If you want a spin over the city, helicopter services ireland are running deals at the minute. It's in a 7 seat heli so the flights would be at scheduled times so that the aircraft is full. Not sure how long the flight is but worth a call.
    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply - yeah Ive been looking at the ones ased at Weston actually. I know its pricey but its a big birthday so Im looking for something special. Do you think the 60 minutes flying time would be a lot better than the 30 minute flying time ones? Do you know if you get to control the heli for most of the fight? I just wonder if 30 mins would feel like it was over in a flash or do you think it would be plenty of time?

You get to control the heli for as much or as little as you want - except for take-off and landing. 30 minutes is a bit quick alright. 40 - 45 mins is probably the best length of time actually so maybe get a voucher for 45 mins. The pre-flight briefing is generally in the heli also, so he'll get a good introduction to helicopters.

Hi, I got my boyfriend a voucher for Weston Airport and he had the time of his life. It was over very quickly but he was so buzzed up. He got to be in control of it here and there, he mentioned they hovered with the power off. I'll ask him more about and let ya know
