    Muscovy duck

    Agreed.

More pics of these on DoneDeal than in bird books, which doesn't help!

Thanks folks, So not really a wild bird then, So this one must be an escapee as he was sitting on the bank of a river.

Thats a very clean Muscovey. It must have access to clean running water.

I could be wrong but I think Muscovies are now on the UK breeding list. They are now feral in East Anglia with a good breeding population

    From Wikipedia
The Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata) is a large duck which is native to Mexico and Central and South America. A small wild population reaches into the United States in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. There also are feral breeding populations in North America in and around public parks in nearly every state of the USA and in the Canadian provinces; feral populations also exist in Europe

Was one up in Marley park a few years back. May still be there. Fierce ugly (edit: and angry) thing ...
