    Hey,

Looking for some help with this if anyone knows anything! I believe from the research that I have done that it is from the 16th century. The iron appears hand hammered. It is extremly heavy and could be Oak or possibly Teak. It has a shelf, that is placed inside, above the two doors which is an awkward place to access.

There are saw marks and indentations on the wood, which ties in with that time period.

It is 28 inches deep, 3ft wide and 46.5in in height.

Guys any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Wow .... this one is old ! and to be honest I cant put my finger on it

It looks like fruitwood , but is that carved section original to the cupboard ?
It just looks a little bit out of character with the rest of the piece .

I'm going to throw it out there and say it's Spanish if the carving is 'married' to the piece .

Thats just an educated guess , its not the type of thing you'd find everyday in Ireland :)

Id pop an image off to one of the English auction houses that deal in early furniture .
It won't be a huge value considering its age , but you might get some more info or opinions on it .

Let us know if you find out anything else !
