Anyone know where I can find info on the different options available? Like in what cases can subjects be carried into 2nd year etc.

Registry told me that you can register through your portal page from tomorrow if you passed.

If repeateing the year the you need to complete a R34 http://www.dcu.ie/registry//forms/pdfs/R34%20.pdf

passed all mine, but there is one that looks really questionable, i was expecting it to be my best. I'm not sure if the lecturer marked my repeat continuous assessment as he didn't answer any of my emails about it over the summer. I submitted it to him via email and I have records of this.

I can't ask him because I can't get in contact with him but does anyone know what the usual recourse is? Is there a formal results appeal type thing?

There is a consultation period for students and faculty next week afaik.

Did your results show the CA and Exam mark?

Mine only showed a final mark so cant tell.

Not sure why that is as it usually gives you the 3 marks altogether.

Regardless of your final mark the exam itself will only ever count as pass you can't get anything higher.

I don't understand? What about firsts, two ones etc.? I averaged 67.3 which in my understanding is a 2:1? If the continuous assessment was not processed and it should have been I would get a first overall.

Sorry, I thought this is the way things worked?

At the bottom of your results page it should state your overall result for the entire year.

    It appears like so:

Oh, well see I was ill for some of last semester so technically haven't completed the year yet. So I didn't expect the formal result at the bottom of 2:1 or anything.

But when I do complete 3 modules next semester and do INTRA i'll have completed the year and then I'll get my overall result.

I'm just more concerned about this one exam result, and thanks for lettin me know about the appeals thing, from what I read it seemed to be only illness appeals as opposed to marking etc. I don't expect to get my marks improved, only to find out if my final mark for that module included marks for a continuous assessment.

EDIT: And if not, can i present evidence of my submission etc. to the board/lecturer in question

Also, I've looked but I can't find out what the exact weight each year is in contributing towards you're final degree. I'm doing computer applications and I think only year 3 (small percentage) and 4 (large percentage) count towards the degree.

It's been three years since I completed year 2 (illness) and I can't remember what I got overall. Is it possible to view this somewhere?

Not sure you will find that anywhere as it probably varies between courses. Mine (physics) is 20% for 3rd year and 80% for final year. So yours is possibly the same.

You would have to contact registry and pay a fee if you want the actual transcripts, but maybe they will just tell you the result if you ring up. Worth a try.

    For CA I think it's a 10% 90% split.

found this just there for any computer applications students interested:

    http://www.computing.dcu.ie/~davids/CA_FAQ.html

    at the bottom it says
    CA FAQ wrote:
Starting in the academic year 2011-2012 your degree classification will be based on 85% of your Year 4 Precision Mark and 15% of your Year 3 Precision Mark. Yes! Year 3 counts.
