Copy own dvds

    Now that it is legal to copy ones own dvds can some one tell me how to copy my dvds on to my Iomega screenplay plus hard drive . I am a pensioner so as easy as possible thanks

    DVD shrink it the best, you can copy the entire DVD, only certain tracks (like just the main feature) and even compress the DVD if you want to save space.

    I use DVDFab HD Decrypter.

    They have paid versions for converting etc, but the basic Copy function is always free. Works with Bluray also.

    Its in the UK, don't think it applies here. Most European countries have clarified it already, I think we are the last not to.

    But anyway it has always been a grey area. In some regions it is legal to make a backup, but not legal to decrypt the protection, which is kind of pointless.

    I knew it was a grey area here. I was just shocked at the idea that our politicians would have the knowledge to know that it could be done at all. Anywho that only allows people to copy to a pc or mobile device and is porbably less about backing up and more about copying media onto those devices (I do believe that the law up to now has made uploading songs on to an ipod a grey area)
