Preparing for a code hack event

I've done quite a few code-hack events maybe 10 years ago... but this week, a group of us from work will be taking part in a 24-hour industry-related hacking event.
(FYI - I'm not talking about breaking into secure systems here, I'm talking about bodging together a piece of cool software in 24 hours. The event itself is thack)

That means that instead of the off-the-fly, code-in-whatever-language-you-want style that I'm used to, things will probably have to be in Java/JS, running in Windows, with frameworks everyone's familiar with, and using rather more corporate, obscure and heavy APIs that come with the industry.

Has anyone any advice on simple preparation that can be done for an event like this?

I was thinking along the lines of getting some simple online source control (like Springloops), and pre-preparing a sandbox server we could use for connecting components together - maybe a copy of glassfish, connecting into GWT, with a simple no-SQL DB behind... I had my eye on couchDB but its windows support is dodgy. Opinions?
