Currrently trying to access online journals, I've signed into web of knowledge using my tcd username etc, and found journals of interest, but I can't seem to be able to read anything other than the extract?

    Any help is appreciated! :)

The Library may not have full access to the journal that you're looking at, or it may have full access but not through that particular provider - in this case Web of Knowledge.

Search for the journal in the online catalogue. If the Library has a subscription to the journal online, the journal's title will be followed by the phrase [electronic resource].

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, that does help! I'm pretty sure it should have access through Web of Knowledge because a lecturer recommended it, but I don't really trust Trinity library or my lecturers :P I'm not looking for a particular journal, just particular information, is there a way to search for that rather than the journal title do you know?

    Thanks again! :)

Maybe try a database search? That way you will get information across a range of journals instead of just one :)

Well you're already going the right way about your research by doing a database search using Web of Knowledge. The thing to bear in mind though is that the Library does not have total access to the full range of articles provided by Web of Knowledge. So, if you come across such an article, double check through the Library's catalogue to see if we have access to the online journal from another source.

Check to see what other databases are available for your subject by going to the Databases page on the Library website - http://www.tcd.ie/Library/collections/databases.php and clicking on the "By subject" tab.

In addition, you could check the "Subject Guides" page on the Library website - http://www.tcd.ie/Library/support/subjects/index.php - which also gives details about how to contact your Subject Librarian.

And finally, don't forget that the Duty Librarian if you're stuck - tel.01-896 1127.

What has worked for me is sticking "http://elib.tcd.ie/login?url=" in the URL before the real URL of the journal site you're looking at, then you log in using your TCD stuff and should theoretically be able to access papers. See http://www.tcd.ie/Library/using-library/off-campus.php.
