Android 2.3.3 tethering question

I'm running android v 2.3.3 and there is an option "tethering and portable hotspots" which sets your phone up to be used as a modem. If I use this feature will my mobile provider charge me separately for using data in this way? I'm basically connecting my tablet to my phone and using its internet connection or should I be using a different App? I have a postpaid unlimited data plan with O2.

I have done something similar with an old windows mobile phone and was never charged separately.

Have searched but can't find an answer to this question.

    No, it's not an iPhone.
