In need of new irons

Just sold my old irons and the new irons I thought I had lined up have fallen through! So now I'll be playing with a set consisting of wedges, woods and a putter until I find something new!
I'd be keen on Wilson Di7/9 or Mizuno cavity backs - would anybody know of any second hand ones of these going for reasonable price, or have suggestions for something else? After gaining another shot to the handicap over the weekend I think it's fair to say I need ultra forgiveness....!
    Thanks all

i bought a new set of Di9's at the weekend and after a few hours with them i'm liking them a lot. ideal for a mid to high handicapper.
Was hoping to get out later today but with that wind its not looking likely.

Yeah I was out yesterday in pretty insane wind - doesn't help the confidence!
If you don't mind me asking, what did the new Di9's cost new?

    No problem, they were €299.

i have a full set of Cobra 3100 I/H's on adverts if you are stuck. Great irons as well.

Great price for a great set of clubs. Can't go wrong @ that price. Might have to check them out myself!

McGuirk's have MX200s and 300s on clearance at the moment.

Think I'd prefer to go the second hand route for now - certainly couldn't justify €500 on irons yet!
I'd actually already eyed up your Cobras Charlie, might give my search for Wilsons/Mizunos a bit longer but they look like nice clubs alright.

The Wilson Di11 are on golfstoreeurope for €349. I have the Di6 and I like them but might upgrade to the Di11

If you are going the second hand route check out golfbidder.co.uk

Thanks Jodi but I think the P series are a bit beyond me at the moment - unless you were selling them for a price I couldn't resist?...!
Grump if you do decide to upgrade you'd have a readymade buyer for the Di6's

    Hi Lettuce97,

I have a set of Cobra S-2 irons if you're interested. They are designed as game improvement irons. Big head and easy to hit. On Adverts.ie if you're interested.

Hi Claude - are they the ones I saw that are 1 inch longer than standard? They definitely wouldn't suit me I'm afraid, I'm still waiting for my second growth spurt in my 30s...

No worries - they're great when the ball is below your feet!

    Hi lettuce
Sorry for the plug, but I have a set of cobra sz's which I bought in Halpennys in April/may this year if you are interested, only played a couple of rounds with them, I ended up upgrading to Cobra S2 max hybrid/iron set.

Not at all, I'm loving the way this thread is turning out! What kind of money would you be looking for?

am interest in this thread myself because i am contemplating changing Irons at the min as i am using a set of 8 year old oversized beginer irons

I havent an official handicap but playing to about 18(society hc) now and improving(started the year at 26) but would the Nike VR Split Cavity Irons be too difficult for me as i have read conflicting reviews online

    Ping G10
Main reason I went from 12 to 5
Best in the business and going cheap these days
    They make the game easy

I have a set of Callaway X-20's and an X-22 Gap Wedge in my ads, both uni-flex shafts. Very forgiving and got me from 20 to 13. Just got fitted so moving on to irons with an stiff/x-stiff shaft.

Hi all, thanks for all the input - I ended up taking scubapro's Cobras off him, very happy. Convinced I'll get the handicap going the right direction this weekend. I'll leave the thread to the other lads who mentioned they were on the lookout for something, after my experience I'm sure you'll have no trouble at all!
    Thanks again!

I ended up buying the above club with the intention of waiting till next week to start using them as I have an outing friday and a captains prize this saturday but after hitting them on the range they are coming straight out this weekend never hit an iron so sweetly

Have a set of Mizuno Irons MX 25's for sale if your interested. Not up on adverts yet tho. Was holding onto them for a while.

3-PW. Previous owner was around 5 foot 8 or 5 foot 9 if your interested in buying them. Mint condition in fairness, cleaned after every round.

Would be willing to sell for less than 200euro if your interested.

Not sure what price is above but if the MX-200s are going for a decent price new then I'd highly recommend them. Play them myself, have come down from 22-17 in the 12 months. Can't put it entirely down to the clubs, but they've definitely helped

Resurrecting this thread as I'm in the same boat (well I didn't so much sell mine as watch the heads off more than one fly away along with my ball!)

I've high handicap so I'm looking for easy to hit irons. Ideally about 4-SW
