Formula's in Excel not working

    Hi,

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, I have a workbook which is used to record members daily attendance and what amounts they pay each day.

The sheet has a name column followed by an amount column then a column which we populate with a "y" if they are in attendance. This works across the page for each day Monday to Friday.

At the end of the page the columns are totaled, the column with the "y", I use a counta function.

I then transfer this and some other information to a new sheet which gives the weekly totals, this is done using copy and paste special.

Problem is that with the few weeks the totals are not populating automatically. To get the totals I have to double click in the total cell and press enter. All the functions are still in place but cells are not being populated.

Anyone have any idea what the problem can be.
    Thanks in advance.

If you press F9, do they update?

If so, you probably need to go into your preferences in Excel (Formulas Tab / Calculation Options) and set the calculation to Automatic.

Another question - are these formulae getting data from cells in another Workbook?

I had this problem, very annoying. The only way I remember making them work is delete the cell and write in the formula again. Weird bug that happens but I've no idea why!

Your a genius, the calculation was set to manual, other people use the sheet aswell as myself so obviously they had done something, I was told that this just happened;) It was wrecking my head because I have the original workbook saved on the laptop and it was working perfectly.

In relation to your question all data is being retrieved for the same workbook

    Thanks again
