Lunch area in NUI

    Is there a place on campus where you can hang out and have lunch (that you bring yourself) without out been hunted for not buying from one of the restaurants?? Can't afford to be buying lunch in there everyday
    I remember UL had loads of them one by the student union was a grand spot and as far as I remember you'd be grand in that red raisin place or whatever It's called

    Smokey's cafe on the concourse, or in The HUB in Aras na MacLeinn are probably your best bet.

    The SU will soon be opening a small café in the Hub (Student Common Room), in Áras na Mac Léinn.

    We will be providing microwaves there for students to heat up there own home-made food though, and students are more than welcome to use the Hub as it was always intended - as a common room where you can bring in your own stuff for lunch.

    Theres also a common room with a kitchen/kettle/microwave for students to use in the chapel behind arts millenium.

    Have been told to leave the canteen area for bringing your own food before?? I'd be amazed if they asked you to leave that area, so many people just go down and sit there without eating or drinking anything. I know it's technically supposed to be for bialann, starbucks and subway customers but it really is more of a common area. I've sat there and eaten sandwiches from the shop before and nothing was said.

    Ive had friends who were told not to eat their homemade sandwiches in there last year. Never happened to me though.
