Likelihood of Dublin Swift cancelling?

Hi - have booked on Irish Ferries' Dublin Swift ("Jonathan Swift") service from Holyhead to Dublin this Saturday 17.09.11.

Just checked the website, and has been cancelled yesterday, today and tomorrow due to weather conditions.

I think it has a bit of a notorious reputation for cancellations, but just wondering if any regular Irish seas travellers can shed any light on the likelihood of the service being cancelled this weekend?? (....or am I asking how long is a piece of string???)

I do the trip over a lot, Between Oct-March i will always book the slow boat as the Swift misses a lot of sailings.

The weather is supposed to be real bad this week so i reckon it'll miss most of this week, as for Saturday, prob won't find out for sure till Friday

Cheers. Suppose I will just have to play the waiting game, and regret paying extra for the Hi-speed sailing!:(

I used to use it a lot about ten years ago and never got this! He can transfer his tickets for the slower boat, it gets you there the same allbeit two hours later.

You were very lucky. I travel by ferry frequently and if someone farts in Hackballscross the Swift gets pulled.

Irish Ferries really need to stop misleading the public that this is a viable transport option. I no longer consider it at all in making journey plans.
