Hey guys i've a quick one for you. I see guitarists playing loop pedals the odd time and i'm wondering if there is any sort of equivalent for the Keyboard and Vocals.

I'd love a pedal that i could use live. Could hook my keyboard, Semi-acoustic guitar and do some vocal loops on.

Anybody has any experience with this and knows what equipment is best would be great.

    Cheers

Can't seem to find either a new one or used one online. Are they discontinued?

Didn't even realise it but yeah, a quick googleling says it is. If you're interested I know a friend of mine was selling one a while ago... I'm not sure if he ever managed to though. I don't wanna break any rules on here so if you want me to check with him for ya just send me a PM!

What about the other RC models? RC-2, 3, 20, 20XL and 30? Anything that works on a guitar will work on a keyboard. If you want to plug two or three things into it maybe a little mixer or something, dunno if the pedals have multiple inputs...

What about using your computer, if it's a laptop? Grab an audio interface and a copy of Ableton Live and you'll be looping like a badass in no time, with way more options open compared to a pedal looper! Not for everyone but definitely worth considering!

The 50 has XLR, guitar jack, aux input, MIDI input/output and you can use them all together but the rest all just have a guitar input as far as I'm aware. You have a point with the mixing desk though. I haven't looped on my computer before... Is it usable live as a looper?

Wow, the 50 sounds perfect then! Specially with that MIDI gear, could be a lot of fun!

Computers are definitely useable live! Ableton has a program called 'Looper' that's designed to be a really powerful, straightforward looper, I use it a lot with my band for doubling up parts when we need to have more instruments playing than we have free hands. But more interesting I think is the way Ableton's Session View and clip setup works, which is perfect for laying out a whole load of different audio clips and playing around with them live. Ableton is particularly well equipped for a kind of 'jamming' set up - I didn't think you could 'jam' on a computer before giving Ableton a shot!

There's a guy I'm really into, Christopher Willits, who uses Ableton and Max/MSP a lot for live looping and processing. He's a programmer himself and writes his own Max patches to do super complicated things with his sound. He's one of the guys who's really pushing the guitar forward, showing what can be done!

He even has a series of tutorial videos for how to work a guitar/Ableton setup - a bit cringey that it's obviously endorsing Ableton's products, but still really informative. I learned a lot from these videos, anyway...

Ye i'd be interested depending on price. I quite literally know nothing about them so i'd be going on your word on it.

Cheers drop me a pm when you find out what the story is.

Worth checking out the digitech jammans too. My one has instrument in, mic in on xlr and a mini jack aux in.
If you dont need long looping time then the akai headrush is another option.

I use a Boss RC-30. It's a great tool. 3 hours of recording and you can back up your stuff to a pc.You can also play two different track simultaneously. You can see some samples on you tube.Blanchardstown school of music sell them for 275 new.

    I'd recommend SooperLooper software

    http://www.essej.net/sooperlooper/
    (free and open source)

I've been using it live with an FCB1010 midi controller pedal.
    http://www.thomann.de/ie/behringer_fcb_1010.htm

You can use SooperLooper for standard 1 track looping or add an infinite number of tracks (depending on your computer power). I use it standalone but it can also be used as a plugin for Ableoton.
